What is Paris without the Fashion Shows, especially when it’s Paris Haute Couture Fashion Week 2016. This week was amazing for the streets of Paris, and behind closed doors, you could discover the true glamour of Paris, full of VIPs, stars, fashion shows and street-style.The best gossip this week has been the fact that Rihanna and Leonardo DiCaprio had been spotted kissing in Rihanna’s favorite club here in Paris, L’arc.
Best catwalks in the Haute Couture Department, were held here in Paris, where great designers presents the trend for this year. I really think the battle was between the two most amazing Lebanese designers, known for their sense of fashion, glamour and sophistication:
Elie Saab, who added an Indian zing to his Haute Couture Spring/Summer 2016 collection and
Zuhair Murad Couture, with his spring/summer 2016 collection with exquisite designs, sophistication and flirty fun all mixed in at once.
Zuhair Murad had a 51-piece presentation:
long gowns or short birdcage dresses,
organza skirts and slits up the thigh,
long sleeved body suits and purely white pantsuits,
nymphs from the forests and modern day princesses,
silver belts and lovely headwear,
golden strap sandals and embroidered lace running across the décolletage and down the arms.
According to Women’s Wear Daily, Elie Saab presented an Indian theme, “adding an exotic tinge to his sparkly gowns and cocktail dresses, swags of fabric over-the-shoulder telegraphing the gesture of a sari.” As per Vogue, “Saab gave his inspiration as Lilah Winfield, an early 20th-century Anglo-Irish aristocrat whose diaries and photographs vividly described the days of the Raj. With an imaginary storyline of the great Dehli Durbar of 1911, attended by British royals George V and Queen Mary as Emperor and Empress of India, the designer was on new ground for his style.”
